What Cookies Are
Cookies are small browser values that websites may use to remember information between page requests. Similar browser storage, such as localStorage, may also be used for website preferences.
Cookie Categories
Required Cookies
Required cookies support basic website behavior. If Packet #10 - User Login System is installed, PHP may use a session cookie to keep a signed-in user authenticated. The cookie-consent system may also store a visitor's cookie choice.
Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies help understand general website usage. Packet #14 - Google Analytics should only be enabled after the website owner chooses the desired consent behavior and adds the analytics configuration.
Marketing Cookies
Marketing or advertising cookies may be used by advertising, donation, social-media, or embedded third-party services. Remove this section if the website does not use those services.
Current Site Behavior
AlanHarmon.net does not currently enable analytics or marketing cookies. The consent system stores the visitor's choice in a cookie named template2026_cookie_choice.
The Cookie System is controlled by $template2026CookieSystemEnabled in /assets/includes/header/global-variables.php.
Visitor Choices
The banner lets visitors accept all optional cookies, reject optional cookies, or manage individual categories. Required cookies cannot be turned off through the website because they support core behavior.
Browser Controls
Visitors can also review cookie and storage settings in their browser. Blocking cookies may affect login, preferences, or other website features.
